Our school has a positive and growing partnership with Volunteering ACT; several volunteers support children’s learning across the school on a weekly basis.
Parents and carers are very welcome at our school and are invited to participate in school activities and attend assemblies and other school events. There are many other ways to be involved, including:
- assisting at Breakfast Club;
- helping with reading, writing, numeracy, and/or arts in the classroom;
- sharing a particular interest or expertise with staff and children;
- assisting with lunchtime clubs;
- joining our weekly specialist Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths (STEAM) groups;
- involvement with the P&C;
- participating in working bees;
- nominating for the School Board; and
- helping with sporting events and excursions.
To assist schools in providing a safe environment and a positive educational climate, volunteers are asked to comply with the Code of Conduct for Volunteers. This code of conduct has been formulated to clarify the type of conduct that is expected of volunteers when participating in programs and activities in ACT Government schools.
